About COLLATERAL DAMAGE
Hollywood It Girl, Francesca Leon, has just landed the biggest role of her career…one that could clinch an Oscar nomination and open doors. If she’s going to move her career to the next level and work with top directors, she has to nail this part — and keep her sexy, but unreliable leading man from screwing everything up.
Bad boy Calder Fox is the son of Hollywood royalty and fresh out of rehab after his best friend’s death sent him on a downward spiral of drugs and alcohol. While his fans still love him and the paparazzi stalk him, he’s never taken life, or anything about his career, seriously. He may be charming and drop-dead gorgeous, but if he doesn’t stay sober, he could ruin Frankie’s future and expose her long-hidden family secret to the voracious media.
Behind the scenes
Things heat up during filming and have the potential to become hotter, deeper, and much more real. But can Frankie trust Calder with her secret? Or is he doomed to sabotage his own happiness yet again?

We were introduced to Calder in Picture Perfect, and knew there was an interesting story there. I was not disappointed. Collateral Damage is definitely the most emotional book of the Limelight series. The prologue draws you in immediately; it’s intense and full of emotion.
Fresh out of rehab after recovering from the loss of his best friend, Calder finds himself on the path of a different type of recovery. He has yet to heal emotionally, and his career has taken a hit. He is determined to prove to everyone that he deserves a second chance, and that he’s not the person that he used to be.
Francesca has made her way in acting by doing smaller indie films. She is determined to launch her career, and is well on her way when she is offered a leading role in a new movie. She’s excited about the opportunity until she learns that her co-star had to back out of the film and has been replaced by Calder. Having worked with him in the past on a TV show, she is less than thrilled to work with him again. All she recalls is that he would come to the set hungover, and didn’t seem to take anything seriously. Francesca on the other hand, likes order and control. She’s now prepared for working with Calder again to be a disaster.
As Calder and Francesca start working together, she realizes that she may have misjudged Calder, and that he truly may have changed. Calder struggles every day with his addictions, and tries his best to be a better man and no go back to the way he was before his accident. As they grow closer, he also wants to be a man that Francesca deserves. When she sees how he reacts to a secret that she has kept hidden from the outside world, Francesca feels that Calder may be the only man for her.
Things are going well with their film and their relationship until a mistake on set threatens to spin Calder into a downward spiral and back to where he was before. Francesca is determined to be there for him, but with the amount of guilt and self-loathing that he carries, he feels that he will destroy her and pushes her away. An accident on set puts things in perspective for Calder, but will it be too late?
Collateral Damage is a story of healing, forgiveness, and self-discovery. Highly recommend. 4 stars.
