Synopsis

When I was twenty-eight years old, I wrote my own winning lottery ticket. A simple idea thrust me onto the fast track to wealth, and into a world I had only ever dreamt about. I submerged myself in the unfamiliar, a life that seemed all too alluring … until it lost its appeal.

I made my fortune, built my castle, and then exiled myself within its comforts once reality set in.

Far too late, I discovered I was drowning in a sea of hungry sharks. Given the choice to sink or swim, I chose the latter … and it cost me everything.

Devin McIntyre, the most dangerous shark of them all, was the last nail in my naïve coffin. His beautiful smile and amazing cock tainted me in ways I could have never imagined.

I craved him. I needed him. I loved him.

Miserable with the outcome of my prosperity, I set out to change what disgusted me most—the first decision being to rid myself of Devin. Little did I know that taking that first step would make me a slave to a man far more tempting … or that my addiction to Devin would threaten to ruin it all.

If you are not a fan of cursing, erotic and extremely explicit sex, cheating, immoral behavior, dysfunction or sexual scenarios that may make you feel uncomfortable this is not the series for you. FILTHY EROTIC ROMANCE

EXCERPT:

Layla smiles. “It’s nice to see them back together.”
“It is, makes my life a hell of a lot easier.”
“Why’s that?”
I glance over at her. Her eyes are glassy, cheeks are
flushed but she’s relaxed and it’s not a sight I get to see often. “One less
thing for me to watch over.”
Layla who was sitting across from me on the booth that’s
out on the deck lies down, crosses her ankles and places her hands on her
stomach.
I laugh. “What are you doing?”
She points up to the sky. “Looking at all the stars.”
I toss back the rest of my beer and follow suit lying
down where we are head to head. Neither of us talks for what seems like
forever. It’s not an awkward silence but a comfortable one.
“Tell me something about yourself that no one knows,
Layla.”
She’s quiet and I almost think she’s fallen asleep when
she starts, “I’ve always wanted a tree house.”
“A tree house?” I ask just to confirm I’ve heard her.
It’s so random.
“Yeah, and not one that’s on the ground, I wanted a real
tree house high up in the trees.” She sighs. “When I was little I used to watch
from my bedroom window while the dad from the house behind ours built the
Foster sister’s one. For two weeks he worked on it for them.” She turns on her
stomach and rests her chin on her hands. “He put it way up high, nailed pieces
of wood on the tree for steps. He brought up these big pieces of wood that he
used for the floor. Then a few days later the house was framed out. He even
made them a little porch that he put railing around. By the end of the second
weekend I saw him hoisting up a huge triangle piece that he used for the roof.
Mr. and Mrs. Foster brought the girls up so that they could see it. The looks
on their faces was priceless.”
I turn around and face Layla on the bench. Her eyes are
even glassier now than they were before.
“They painted the little house that was big enough for
the four of them to sit in. Mrs. Foster made them little curtains for the
windows and planted little flowers in the flower boxes that hung off of the
railing of the porch.” Her smile grows. “I watched the little girls bring their
baby dolls up in a little box that they would pull up, like their dad used for
the roof. Mrs. Foster even made them a picnic basket at dinner time, too.”
A little tear escapes the corner of her eye and I watch
as it runs down her cheek. She doesn’t even bother trying to wipe it away.
Being this close I notice the freckles sprinkled across her nose and I suddenly
want to kiss each and every one of them.
“Layla?”
“Hmm,” she mummers.
“I’m sorry you never got your tree house.”
She smiles a sad smile. “Me too.”

It sounds like Layla didn’t have a great childhood, maybe
she didn’t have a dad like me or maybe she did and he just couldn’t be bothered
with her. I don’t want to ask because it’s a personal question and Layla
doesn’t give away much about her life. So for now I’ll take what she’s willing
to give me and vow that if I ever have a little girl, I will build with my own
two hands the best damn tree house ever seen.

Review (1)

Stay for Me is completely different than Megan’s other books, and I absolutely loved it! I love when we think we know what to expect from an author and then she throws something at us that we just don’t see coming at all. That’s what Megan did with Stay for Me.Layla Del Luca has not had an easy life. Because she can’t depend on her mother, Layla struggles daily to take care of herself, her little sister, all while working and going to school. The only help she gets is from her overbearing, jealous boyfriend Brian, who only seems to help out just to throw it back in her face and to remind her that she needs him because of everything that he does for her. She feels that this is the best that life has for her, until something better comes along that she’s not expecting: Eli Sabatino.

Eli is starting a new chapter in his life by going into business with his friend Cooper Cahill. While Cooper is away playing baseball, Eli is handling the interviews for their new club, Fierce. When he finds out he’s interviewing a friend of Cooper’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Jaylinn, he is reluctant until he sees Layla for the first time.

The attraction between Layla and Eli is instant, and they soon find that the chemistry between them is too much to ignore. Eli wants Layla, and as much as she wants him, she is reluctant to let go of Brian because of everything that he does for her. She also doesn’t want Eli to see just how bad her life is. When everything seems to blow up around her, Layla is left with no choice but to turn to Eli for help.

With Brian no longer in the picture, and her life the best it’s ever been, Layla finally relaxes and lets things progress between herself and Eli. Their connection is so strong, and it doesn’t take long before they have completely fallen for each other. Their lives are perfect, and they are planning for the future, and then something from the past comes along and destroys everything.

For me, this is the most emotional book that Megan Smith has even written. You just don’t see what’s coming, and it will make you feel as though your heart is being ripped out of your chest. Stay for Me is a must-read that I just can’t recommend highly enough.  5 well deserved stars.

~*~*~ RELEASE BLITZ ~*~*~ Jake Understood by Penelope Ward

Jake Understood Cover

From the New York Times bestselling author of Jake Undone, comes a full-length standalone companion novel and sequel.

A different side to the story: Jake’s side.

“We’re getting a new roommate,” they said.

I thought nothing of it…until she walked in the door. Her hand trembled in mine as she looked at me with fearful eyes. My entire world spun on its axis.

Nina…

It was a mismatch made in heaven: innocent girl from the boonies moves in with tattooed, pierced, badboy engineer.

I came up with a bet, a plan to tutor her in math and coach her through her phobias. What I wasn’t betting on was becoming addicted to her.

But I was living a double life on weekends, and once she found out about it, she’d be gone.

I had to protect myself and that meant one thing: I couldn’t fall in love.

In Jake Understood, pivotal scenes from Jake Undone are retold from Jake’s point of view combined with all-new material from both the past and present time where Jake Undone left off. It can stand alone but if both books are read, should follow Jake Undone. Contains graphic sexual content and harsh language. It is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.

~*~*~ RELEASE BLITZ & GIVEAWAY ~*~*~ Love Surfaced by Michelle Lynn

The equations are simple.

Piper Ashby + Brad Ashby = Twin Siblings
Brad Ashby + Tanner McCain = Best Friends
Piper Ashby + Tanner McCain = Off limits

Tanner and I abided by the rules. We stayed on our designated sides of the relationship
circle.

Ignoring swarming butterflies.
Brushing off skipped heartbeats.
Settling on lingering stares.

Here’s the secret … a hand extended over that invisible line once, exponentially changing the equation. I was convinced we could make our relationship work until Tanner broke the trust he embedded in me from the age of seven.

One deceit of mega proportions and the relationship we built for that short month vanished. I swore never to speak to him again and it’s worked. Until now—two years later, when my brother’s wedding places me face-to-face with the best man—Tanner McCain.

Leaving one equation to be solved. Can love surface twice?

“Piper.”
He hesitates before joining me on the cement stoop.
question why he even searched me out even though it’s been his MO lately, popping up wherever I am.
He places his arm across my shoulders and pulls me into him, which only brings a
ripple of warmth to the pit of my stomach. “Come here.”
My head burrows into his strong chest, and his hand soothingly roams up and down my back. I sink into him. With the comfort of his arm, the tension in my shoulders from placing fifth in my swim meet slowly releases.
Refusing to let him make my mind race with his confusing affection, I sit up. Swiping
the tears from my eyes, I honestly confess, “Tanner, it was my last shot.”
He begins to shake his head, but I stop him, “No, I have to realize it. My dream
of swimming in the Olympics is over.” I rise to my feet, and the heaviness in my chest sinks back into place now that I’m out of his embrace.
He follows me over to the oak tree. Coming up behind me, his hot breath tickles my
neck. My pulse races into overdrive, reminding me of how badly I want him.
Why does he keep leading me on?
He continues to toe the line between friendship and more, but he never actually
steps over it. Each time his hand brushes mine or his eyes search me out, my heart stops beating for a moment as I hope this is it—until he crushes the fluttering butterflies and steps away.
I close my eyes from the view of Michigan University’s football stadium because I
need to calm my insides. “Why are you here?”
He should be with my twin brother, preparing for their own meet. “You should be in warm-ups.”
His hands land on my shoulders, and he leans down. At our connection, a tingle spreads through my body.  “I saw you leaving the pool house.” His voice cracks.
hear his deep intake of breath.  “That’s not what I’m asking, Tanner.”
When I turn around, I almost collapse when I come face-to-face with this gorgeous
guy. He’s absolutely one hundred percent the perfect male.
My perfect male.
His  brown hair is tucked away in his MU hat that’s flipped backward. His lips and
cheeks are rosy from the early spring chill in the air. With only a sweatshirt and track pants on, he’s the epitome of a college student. His good looks remind me of the unbearable yearning that pulls me toward him.
His eyes are so transparent that I can see the torment of his inner turmoil from
our situation, meaning nothing has changed for him. He’s as conflicted as ever because I’m his best friend’s sister.
“I don’t know.” His voice is soft, caressed with the sweetness he’s shown me the
last few months.
My stomach drops at his words. I want to grab his face with my hands and beg him
to admit that the small seed of attraction has grown over the years and we can
no longer dodge around it.
Instead, I stand there, with my hands at my sides, silently pining for the day he
acknowledges our desire for one another.
“Then, that’s a problem.” My heart thumps as I sidestep him and weave through the sporadic clumps of snow that have yet to melt from the harsh winter.

Title: WAR by Isabel Lucero.
Blog tour 30th march- 5th April
Hosted by: Two Ordinary Girls and Their Books.

Synopsis:
My father was the leader of a protection racket; a criminal group that uses violence to ensure our clients won’t be harmed or robbed, and that their businesses will remain protected. What we do isn’t legal, but it’s the way we’ve lived for many years now. Memphis Reed—my father—was formidable. He was a man people both respected and feared. He taught me everything he knew, and when he died I was left in charge. Before his death, a battle was brewing on the streets. Lies were told, deceptions were made, and people were killed. People we thought we knew changed, relationships and friendships were torn apart, and loyalties were questioned. After his death, a full on war is raging, and Roman Rios—a man we now know we can’t trust—wants to move in on our business. With me now being the leader of nine men, it’s up to me to protect them from Roman and his own crew of ruthless criminals. I’ll do whatever’s necessary to keep my business my own and protect everything my father worked for. Even if I have to go up against Xavier Delgado. Roman’s number two. A man with no heart and a black soul. A man Roman trained to be as vicious and cold-blooded as he is. A man who once upon a time I thought I was in love with. Yes, I’m a she. My name is Chevelley Reed, and all’s fair in love and war.

Review:

A different twist on your average crime family type story. This is definitely a fast paced book that is full of twists and turns. I read this book in one sitting.  I couldn’t put it down!  I had to see what was going to happen next. The fact that the male lead in this book was extremely hot and mysterious didn’t hurt. War is well written and has a nice flow to it. After reading Lucero’s Escort Series, I knew I had to read this one as well and Isabel did not disappoint.  Great job!  4 stars.
