***** Please note that this is the second and final book in a series, and Deception must be read first. May contain spoilers if you haven’t read Deception *****
The conclusion to Claire’s story was amazing! It grabbed me from the first page and kept me drawn in until the very end.
As we read in Deception, Cooper had concerns about Robert, and his possible involvement in Marie’s death. He tried warning Claire about him several times, but she didn’t want to believe him; she felt that he was only trying to tear Robert and her apart.
We see a different side of Robert from the very beginning of this book, and learn that all of Cooper’s warnings were justified. The question is, what will Claire do when she finally sees his true colors? And how far will Cooper go to prove his theories true?
Retribution shows us a different side of Claire as well. She is much stronger than she was in Deception, and finally learns to stand on her own, even though she has Cooper to lean on. She is forced to make some tough decisions, and she tries to weigh out the consequences of those decisions, and how it will effect others.
We quickly see that Robert is evil, but the scene where everything is brought out into the open was nothing like I expected. It was dark and intense, and showed exactly how evil and twisted he really was. Retribution was a great conclusion to a great series. I definitely recommend. 4 stars!
Deception is on sale for $0.99 for a limited time!
